Financial Aid & Scholarship Opportunities

Education can open doors to new possibilities, but worries about cost or not knowing how to get started often keep people from taking that first step.
At FEI, we believe that anyone who wants to invest in their future should have access to affordable education. Financial barriers should never stand in the way of achieving your dreams. That’s why our Financial Aid Office provides personalized guidance to help you explore your options, apply for assistance, and make informed decisions about funding your education.
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. With the right support, you can focus on your studies, build your skills, and take the next step toward a rewarding career. Students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to apply for a Federal Pell Grant.

Types of Financial Aid

Federal Pell Grant: This is a federal student aid program that does not require repayment. Awards are based on enrollment status and financial need. Yearly amounts may vary based on federal appropriations.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG): This program is for students who demonstrate exceptional financial need, and repayment is not required.
Federal Subsidized Direct Loan: The Federal Subsidized Direct Loans are part of a program that provides low-interest, need-based loans for qualifying students enrolled in the Florida Education Institute at least half-time. This is a loan, and repayment is required. Interest is paid by the government while students are enrolled in school at least half-time, including six months after school.
Federal Unsubsidized Direct Loan: The Federal Unsubsidized Direct Loan is part of a program that provides low-interest loans to qualifying students enrolled at least half-time at Florida Education Institute. This is a loan, and repayment is required. This loan may be used in conjunction with the Federal Subsidized Loan (see above). The student is responsible for the interest payments while attending school, but these payments can be deferred by the student until after graduation.
Federal Direct Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS): This is a low-interest loan made available to parents of dependent students to assist with educational expenses. This is a loan, and repayment is required. These loans require a credit check, and repayment of both principal and interest begins 60 days after the final disbursement is made.

Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Training: Any student enrolled at Florida Education Institute and receiving VA educational benefits must adhere to all Florida Education Institute policies and procedures, including all rules and regulations mentioned in the school catalog. Any VA-approved student who does not pass any SAP probation period or exceeds 10 consecutive unexcused absences will have his/her VA educational benefits terminated.

For Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Ch 33) students and VA Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Ch 31) students, our tuition policy complies with 38 USC 3679(e) which means Post 9/11 and Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment students will not be charged or otherwise penalized due to a delay in VA tuition and fee payments. For eligibility consideration, a Post 9/11 GI Bill student must submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and a Vocational Rehabilitation Student must provide a VAF 28-1905 form. Please see 38 USC 3679(e) for complete details.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government website at www.benefits.va.gov/gibill

Other Sources of Assistance: The Financial Aid Office will assist the student in searching for alternative sources of financing for the student’s education.
